COME TO JESUS ~ Wednesday

More sharing from what's going on in my life. I am one of those people who likes to take what GOD is doing and share it with others. We have had a pretty hectic week. With my hubby's job loss we also lost 2 cars....that meant going to the dealership and getting 2 more. Just working out all the logistics of replacing 2 cars, insurance, if they have what we want and so on...we it can be so exhausting. But it has been so like GOD to show me HE is in CONTROL even when these things don't work out exactly as I'd like them to...So yesterday morning when I was turning the page on my Scriptural Round this verse really hit so close to my heart. I thought I'd share how I read it and applied it to what I have been going through.

Isaiah 30:15
"This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Isreal says:
In repentance and rest is your salvation.
In quietness and trust is your strength."

So if I read this correctly, when GOD talks...I must listen...hmmmmmm
How cleansing for me as a sinner it has become when I exhibit true repentance. But true repentance is not just being sorry for that ugly thought, anger against someone who wronged me, or sorry I got caught...it means for me to Change...to do an about face and turn in the right direction. When I come to the Lord with true repentance in my heart that is when HIS rest comes. Resting in my God when life is hectic, harried and the future unknown can be quite a daunting task. But my faith in my GOD and listening to him speak tells me he will be my salvation...my savior...rescuer through these trials.

Then moving on to being quiet. Well, I don't know about you but this woman likes to talk. Sometime just being quiet is hard..My mind is a constant flow of what needs to be done...what to cook for dinner, the simple details of life and how is our future going to change and so on. There is no quietness unless I step back and make time for that. A quiet time to listen..."Be still, and KNOW that I am GOD". When I have taken that time to quiet myself before my LORD and listen to that still small voice I see his guiding hand of providence in Everything I go through. Those are the times that I can look back and see amazing changes in my life that only HE can do. That has been my constant in allowing me to continue to be faithful in our uncertain times.

The storms at times are so loud all around me..but to be still..well there can be calm amidst the storm because of trust. Proverbs 3:6&6 say, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart...and lean not unto your own understanding...in ALL your ways acknowledge him and He WILL direct your path." I trust a GOD who never changes. Who never sleeps or slumbers. Who loves me more than I could ever know. Who never allows trials and then just drops me..nope he is right by my side through it all. That has then been my strength.

I hope this encourages you today. Thanks and blessings...Lorena

Thanks again for PINK Saturdays! Our host is Bev from How Sweet the Sound. If you click on this or Pink Saturdays on my right list of Blogs I love, you will be able to view all of this weeks participants.

Yesterday I posted some items that I have working on the past few weeks. So this is probably a shameless plug on my part. I also showed a picture of some of my latest creations I am making to sell. SO.....today I thought you might like to see the many roses I have made...all dressed up in PINK!

I am so excited because I am able to combine my love for painting ROSES and love for MAKING clay roses. I hope you enjoy my labor of love. I will be selling these hopefully on my Flea Market selling blog as well as etsy and ebay. I am also willing to do customer color orders..these make great gifts or wedding ideas! ENJOY!

From these above...to this wonderful creations below!
Can ya tell I LOVE roses?

COME TO JESUS ~ August 20, 2008

REALISM
John 16:33
"In this world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD!.

Realism is facing life with eyes wide open-an awareness that I must deal with good and bad situations. I can acknowledge the reality that life is NOT perfect, but I can also believe the truth of God's encouragement. He makes me an overcomer, as well.

These are such amazingly strong words. I have one of those Inspiriational Rounds that you put on your table and this was on todays. I am sharing this because John 16:33 has always been a favorite verse of mine. It just speak straight from Jesus. He tells us that we as believers are not always going to have it easy. We will face many trials, wrongs done to us, loss of jobs, family betrayal, hurts, and yet his strong words that HE is the GREAT overcomer can give us strenth to go on. Our lives should be lived as overcomers knowing the greater goal is our rewards in Heaven.

Please be sure to check out our Hosts Jan of Jan and Tom's Place for others who are participating in todays Come to Jesus.

Blessings today for each of you...Lorena

Come to Jesus

I really had good intentions on getting this ready and done yesterday. But sometimes life gets in the way. I apologize and will continue to participate and hopefully have this ready on time early next Wednesday.

Tuesday my sweet hubby found out he was "Let Go" from his job at FORD. Thankfully for us we were prepared mentally for this. But no one can prepare you for how you feel afterwards. I have been a bundle of mixed emotions..and do not as of yet quite know how to put them into words. Praise God we both are confident in God's Plan for us and know that whatever door he opens HIS best is always what He wants for us. The verses below are ones that God has given me to get me through this.

Philippians 4:6&7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything with prayer and petition make your request known to God. And...the PEACE of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ our Lord.

This may be yet a test of my faith in believing my Lord and that HE really IS in control. How often do we get comfortable in our cozy lives that we lead and then BAM!!! something really hits us an makes us realized...we really do not have the control we thought we had. God has been getting this through to me for over a year now. I KNOW he has the bigger picture in mind. Whatever that may bring he wants us to be obedient to Him and just believe.

One of the neatest things about my husbands letting go was his calm. He was told by the manager that had to give him the bad news that he could not believe how well he was taking this. Well I know why...because he has had a Peace that whatever God has planned...we would all be okay. That is the Faith we have in knowing and trusting our Lord. We can have God's Peace even when life and beyond us IS uncertain. And yet, for that today I PRAISE HIM.

Please know if you are in a situation like this or in need of prayer I WILL pray over it. Just leave me a comment and when I read it I will pray for you. God Bless you this day.

Blessings in our All Knowing GOD...Lorena

FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS All Done up in PINK!!!

Today I decided to go around my home and see what other pink goodies I could come up with and lo and behold...I have so many little floral arrangements in pinks of varying colors...I thought it might be fun to show them off to you. So I hope you will sit back with your cold/hot cup of coffee or tea and enjoy my Pretty Bouquets of Pinkness.

This vase was something my mom recently gave me. I know its over 50 years old cause it was a wedding gift. I sure love its fan shape and color!
This is a beautiful Tea Cozy that my sis gave me a few years ago. It has the prettiest PINK rose pinned bouquet on it!
This pretty vase, which is part of my growing pottery collections sits below my Singer sewing machine with these pretty PINK flowers!
A PINK spray of roses over one of my favorite pictures. This print was given to me many years ago by my grandmother who is 94. But the coolest part of it is this is a wonderful depictions of what someone thinks Jesus might look like, but it is done with the entire Words from the Book of Luke. Isn't that just the coolest thing?

These dried roses were from a bouquest that my dear hubby gave me. I always try to save them and use them somehow in my home. I painted the small clay pot and the decorated this all up.

Hope you have a blessed weekend...Happy PINK Saturday to all!

Prayer ~ Come to Jesus Aug 6, 2008

Welcome to this weeks Come to Jesus...which is hosted by Jan of Jan and Tom's Place, please visit her blog to see the other participants this week. Yesterday Jan had a Prayer day for Tuesday...and it got me to thinking about prayer. And then as I was reading my devotions in My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers...guess what it was talking about...PRAYER. Now isn't that just the way GOD works...he reinforces something again and again that He wants us to see.

He starts in John 16:26...In that day you will ask in my name...

We too often think of the Cross of Christ as something we have to get through, yet we get through for the purpose of getting into it.

"Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him"...Matt
6:8. Then why should we ask? The point of prayer is NOT to get
answers from God, but to have perfect and complete oneness with Him. If we
pray only because we want answers, we will become irritated and angry with
God. We receive an answer every time we pray, but it does not always come
in the way we expect, and our spiritual irritation shows our refusal to
identify ourselves truly with our Lord in Prayer. We are not here to prove
that God answers prayer, but to be LIVING proof of God's Grace.

When prayer seems to be unanswered, beware of trying to place the BLAME on
someone else. That is always a trap of Satan. When you seem to have
no answer, there is always a reason - God uses these times to give you deep
personal instruction, and it is not for anyone else but you.

Also, I wanted to add that one of my favorite chapters of the Bible is John 17. It is all about Jesus Praying for you and me. Let that sink in..He prayed for YOU! If you can begin to grasp this concept and know that everything in your walk with Him was prayed over...it may strengthen you to walk strong with him. He prays that we walk in unity with each other and be one and He was with His Father. If you get a chance today..sit a read John 17 and ponder on this amazing chapter.

I have purposed in my heart that everytime someone asked for prayer...right then and there I pray. I want anyone reading this to know...if you are in need of prayer...please leave me a note and be assured it will be prayed over.

Have a Blessed Day...Lorena

PINK Saturday ~ Aug 2nd 2008

Before I show you all my PINK goodies...I wanted to give honor to my sweet hubby of 22nd years. It was a wonderfully and unusually HOT summer day in the Seattle burbs, that my beloved and I walked down the aisle. We had a fun time with our family and friends and then flew off to a dreamy honeymoon in DisneyLand. We lived in the Seattle area and bought our first home and brought our daughter home and lived there for almost 7 years...then a new job and off to Michigan we flew. We have lived here now for over 15 years...seen our daughter grow up here and flourish. GOD has been so good to us and I love all that has happened..through the good, bad, ugly and wonderful. I hope for many more years to share with my sweetie.
We were sitting on the curb waiting for the Electric Light Parade, which we just loved!

Now..on to PINK:

This lovely *Pin Cushion* was a swap gift made for me by Connie of Living Beautifully! Pinkly precious!
These are some of the coffee filter roses that I make and tuck in my goody bag for buyers!
What a sweet snag...the little lamb pot is something I need to keep an eye on...many want to take her home with them! Imagine that? lol

Last but not least...LOVE in varying shade of PINK....this is being sold in my etsy shop..come on by for a visit!

Have a Pinkilicious day!

Blessings Lorena
