PINK Saturday

Hello my Pink Loving Friends!

Wow..how was your week? did it go by as
fast as mine did?

Once again we gather with a little help
from our wonderful hostess
to share our LOVE of
PINK!

After I posted my Master bath curtain
spruce up last week...I decided I needed to finish my cleaning
and take pictures of some PINK
vinettes I created after the fact.
I did change some things around so you may
THINK you are seeing some of the
same pictures I took last week
but they are not.

I had loads of sun when I was trying to take these pictures.
I know someone asked about the window...I used
a FAUX Leaded Glass paint made just for painting
on glass to give a Leaded Glass Look.
This design is one I came up with because
of my LOVE of roses...which due to the
brightness is hard to see.

Below picture is one I have to share with ya...
As most of ya'll know when taking pictures you
need a BRIGHT cheery place to get a decent pix...
this is the ONE place in my home where
I can take get a picture to turn out right,
it has the right amount of light and
now I keep it looking this way
so that when I need to,
I can use it.
If you visit my etsy store you may
see from time to time the many
backgrounds I have used in this place.
Below is a fun glass jar that I decorated up all pretty
with some of my FAVORITE getting
prettied up products.

And last but not least I finally was able to get a better
close up of the curtains where I used my pretty
handmade clay rose pink as a way to
hold up my curtains.

Thanks for your visit and Comments!
I love them all and will try my best to visit each of
you!

PINK Blessings...Lorena

Please visit her store!

makes these darling cuties that
fit nicely into a tea cup.
I am showcasing Mrs. T. Bagg!
Darling doncha think?
Her store is in etsy.

Another dear friend of mine I'd LOVE
you to visit her website is...
I have had the wonderful pleasure of meeting
Vickie last year and am
so tickled she wants me to showcase her
sight...you WONT be disappointed!

I will truly be blessed an honored if you will
take the time to visit these ladies.

I recently picked back up our copy of
THE PRAYER OF JABEZ.
Have any of you ever read it?
Well, GOD has reminded me once again
about how we wants to BLESS those of us
who truly take him at HIS word.
Asking for Him to bless us seems odd,
but not to HIM.  He has so many
little BLESSING BOXES along our
path of life that we often don't
even open because we don't ask.

I can attest to the past 3 days as being some of the
MOST amazing since I began to read and
pray this powerful prayer.
It is my HOPE that I will be able
to BLESS others too.

1 Chronicles 4:10,
"And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,
Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed,
and enlarge my coast,
and that Thine hand might be with me,
and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil,
that it may not grieve me!
And God granted him that which he requested."

This is a small book and a quick read.

Blessings to ALL!

Tea Time Tuesdays!

Happy TEA Tuesday Everyone!

I am finally getting my act together and joining early
my sweet friend Sandi
for our weekly Tea Time Tuesdays!

I have so many goodies to share with
you today.

I am sharing a set of 6 Tea Cups
that I ordered over 20 years ago from
a wonderful catalog that had goodies
from Ireland and England.
Each cup is unique to itself, but
if you look closely the have the same
rims and edges to make
them a set.

Also I found one of my many TeaPots
that I have and felt it would work well with
my sweet lil set.

Won't you join me for some tea and
Amish Bread?

Oh...this is a family favorite.
I found a sourdough starter in my
recipe file that I had forgetten I had.
And began the *brewing* process for
the past 10 days.
And...Today was day 10!!!

Fresh out of my oven and on to your
plate is this yummy moist bread.

AMISH Cinnamon Bread

Day 1......do nothing with you starter but getting it going
Day 2-5.. stir your mixture each day
Day 6......add 1 cup flour, sugar and milk to your mixture, mix well
Day 7-9...stir your mixture very well
Day 10....add into a large bowl your mixture.  Add 1 cup flour, sugar and milk, mix well

Reserve 2-4 cups of mixture for your next week of starter.  You can give 2 or 3 cups of this to friends with your recipe if you like.

Now in the big bowl add to the remaining mixture:
1 cup oil               3 eggs
1/2 cup milk          1tsp vanilla

Dry Ingredients added once the above ingredients are mixed:
2 cups flour           1 1/2 tsp BPowder      1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar            1/2 tsp BSoda           2 tsp cinnamon
1 pkg vanilla pudding mix
Optional: 1 cup of nuts or choc chips

Spray 2 loaf pans, sprinkle pans with a cinnamon sugar mix and on top of batter as well.
Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour or till center pulls out clean.

I also have used different types of pudding mixes as well and mashed up bananas...this recipe is so easy to work with and I am sure you will love it too.

Please feel free to copy this recipe...it's reeeeeallllllly good!

Thanks for stopping by
and leaving comments today.
Blessing to All!

Sundays Inspiration

Good Sunday Morning everyone!

I love to wake up and hear the birdies singing.
Don't you? Spring brings them back to our feeder
and as I sit here listening I decided
I'd just share a favorite verse
before I have to get on with my day.

 Isaiah 43:2
New American Standard Bible (©1995)

"When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
And through the rivers,
they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
For I am the LORD your God,"

What a comfort I receive when I read this verse.
May our LORD be with you today!

Blessings....Lorena

PINK Saturday ~ Springy Fresh Master Bath

Hi My Sweet PINK Friends!

I am so glad that you have joined me for another
Saturday just filled with PINK.
Isn't it a bright and HAPPY color?
I sure think so and so does our wonderful
Be sure to click on her link to visit
other PINK Saturday participants.
On with my Pink for today.
So...with my daughters Senior year
coming to an end my mind and cleaning
are getting into HYPER-gear.
I thought I'd share with you just a few
things I worked on this week.
In my master bath, we have pretty blue walls
and I have accented it with pinks.
This week I pulled down all my window treatments
and the pretty white gauzy curtains that surround
our bath tub and to get them SPRING cleaned.
I found some Rachel Ashwell panels I got at Target
and have used them around my shower and
as window treaments over our large window.
But I tell ya from experience...her stuff is gorgeous
but it's made from 100% COTTON...
which means....
IRONING!
UGGGGH!
This was HARD to take a picture of due to the
brightness in this room...but my sweet friend
Connie lightened it for me so you can see better
what I have done.
I folded one of my panels over the rod and
then took a couple of
ROSE BROOCHES
that I make to actually hold the layers up.
I love how this looks!
A couple of years ago I decided to paint the design
on the large window in our bath area as well
as soften things with the curtains.  With
cathedral ceilings in this room it just
needed something to cozy this space up.
I think I got the right affect I was looking for.

I feel so good to have gotten these done
and now on to another task.

Happy PINK to all!
Lorena

PS...please pardon my mess...I just realized
I didn't finish my cleaning before i took pictures! lol

Tea Time Tuesdays!

Hi Tea Friends!

I am so happy to be joining Sandi again for
our Tuesdays Tea Time.

This week while cleaning I had to pull down some of my
tea cups and so I decided to set my
table and share with you a few of my
treasures!

This tea pots and salt/pepper shakers were gifts from my Mom.
I have small collection of sugar/creamer sets in
ENGLISH bone china and this is the most unique because it
also has a matching plate for them to sit on.
Isn't this pretty?
I took a picture of each  of the 4 teacups
I am sharing today. Each on different and unique
but they are going back up on their wall hanger today.
The rooster plates I just had to show because they are
a recent treasure I found 6 plates each for a $1 and
they go so well with my rooster theme in my kitchen.

This by far is my favorite cup of the four I shared.
Also I have a theme going...do you see it?
Among  my favorite colors is blue...
It's a calming color and can be seen in
many of my rooms.

I set my eat-in kitchen table with treasures
that I have garthered or been given.  A
very special treasure under them all was my mother in laws.
The pretty blue table cloth has pretty bright red flowers.  I LOVE
vintage cloths from the 40's, 50's and 60's.
This one is a gem!

Thanks for visiting and your sweet comments!
Can't wait to see what everyone is
sharing today!

SHOWCASE of ROSES ~ PROMO for a Friend

Hi Blogging Friends!

I have a very dear friend who I'd
LOVE
for you to visit her etsy store.
I have known Connie now for well over 3 years
out here in blog land and she is a GEM!
She has been such a sweet inspiration to me as well as
an encourager.  Many times when I have been down
in the dumps I get a call from this sweet gal to
CHEER Me UP!

So Connie makes the most amazingly
beautiful roses....made from Coffee Filters.
Don't these look real?
I just LOVE them!
I hope you will click on Connie's name above and
visit her store and tell her I sent ya.

Do you create? do you have things you are
trying to sell?
I'd love to share them with other's on my blog if you'd let me.

I am sure, like me, others are seeing how difficult
our economy is right now and I hope that anything I
can do to help you and others sell your pretties is so
appreciated! Just let me know via my comments, okay?

Have a very BLESS Day!

Walking by FAITH...not by sight

Hey Sweet Friends,

Today as I got myself ready for church I was contemplating what the past few years have been for me and my family.  I know every family has its struggles, hardships and times when things just don't make sense.  That is how I have been feeling.  I am not sure I really knew what it meant to *Walk by Faith and NOT by sight* until now. Many times I feel like a blind woman on a tight wire, sticking my toe onto that wire with a blindfold on. Yet I have continued to learn to put one foot in front of the other, each and every day.  I feel even now that I cannot see what is down the road.  I so know that I am slowly learning what it is to trust without thinking I know the answers.

God's gentle spirit promted me to remember about being still, being silent and listening.
Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
So this morning I was being still...well after thoughts of "How do I have joy in the unknown", " Why don't I feel like anything is falling into place", or "What is REALLY happening, HELLO"?
I heard..
Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Oh how I feel like I need rest..HIS rest.  To know that when I am carrying this BURDEN he will make it lighter or me if I would just allow HIM to take and hold it.  Yet, do I know if  I really have given these burdens to him? I am afraid that I realized once again that I had picked these burdens and tried to carry them all BY MYSELF.

Again I was stilled and these words came to me...

2 Corinthians 12:10
Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

My struggles right now, are here to draw me closer to reliance on my Father in heaven.  When I am weak he will take that weakness and strengthen me through it.  I don't have to carry this burdon alone. Oh to know and understand this more has been my desire.

I also know that when you spend precious time with the Lord each day, reading your bible and praying..that in your hour of need he will bring to you his words of wisdom to get you through.  NOT, necessarily the answers to what will happen, but the ability to perservere and to take the lessons learned and grow from it.

My HOPE is that you will find HIS rest today!
