Well...here in MIchigan winter has been trying to come early. But I WONT let it! So I decided to post some pictures of roses in bloom...well maybe not exactly, but these are roses in paintings that I have done and are in my home. Hope you enjoy them!

HAPPY PINK Saturday!

My Oh My, how the week just flies! Don't you feel that way too?

Well, This Pink Saturday is a tribute to some past (and present) paintings I have done for the Holidays. Most of you know I love to paint...my special LOVE is roses. So I last year I started a series of painting which incorporated a cute Stocking/Bootie theme with Christmas goodies. Each one had its own unique theme. The first 4 have been sold to good homes! lol

Many are either pink or have my PINK roses or embellishments on them....this first Victorian Boot was done in aquas...I was very happy with how it all looked.

This has to be one of my favorites...I did this Patchwork Stocking to honor those who I know sew. Its was really a fun one to do.

Here you go...a stocking all decked out in pinks and hearts....
This was my first Stocking Painting, which started the whole them of paintings. Its quit a large canvas Stocking and so full of Holiday cheer!
Okay....here's my latest. This one is listed on ebay right now! A trio of Snowpeople. This canvas board it 11x14 and I even added so sparkly glitter.
Well...this week I have been busy creating a new line of Collage style plaque with my handmade roses. I just had to show you this PINK creation entitle *Cherish* which measures 7"x5". Being a kitty lover I just could NOT resist this darling Victorian girl holding her kitty. This plaque is listed on my ebay and etsy stores, if you love it too, check them out at my links to the top right of this page!

Fall Decor!

Hi everyone...WOW I have had a rough week. I could use your prayers, from you prayer warriors out there! I can't really go into much detail right now, but my daughter is facing a very crisis situation. She is 16 and we are getting her couceling. I am so thankful to my Lord that he IS there for me.

Okay...well a few weeks ago I finally took time to dress my home for fall. Now I am not a huge Halloween fan so I usually gear my decor towards a Bounty of Blessings or harvest themes. I love how dressed up my home looks this time of year! I mainly decorate in my Kitchen, Family Room and Dining Rooms. My favorite area is our mantle. It is the best place to dress up for any Holiday.
This year I am so proud of myself! Tooting my own horn so to speak..I finally finished and sewed the colorful FALL chair covers. I had these cut out about 4-5 years ago and never found the right time to finish them. I WAS determined that this was the year.
I have displayed some sweet Stacking Pot Scarecrows that I have done...as well as painted my foam Pumpkin (FYI...this is for sell on my selling blog).

We have a huge entertainment surround for our Large TV and I put loads of goodies on it..or else it would be a HUGE eye soar! lol
A niche, behind MY chair...this is a family piece, an old Radio/Phonograph that I love and dress up too.
Dont we have a lot to be Thankful for. The Pilgrims and what they endured to help established this great land we live in. How this seems to have been forgotten and I like to make sure they are honors around this time.

Okay...change of venue...my dear sweet kitties...these are recent pictures I have taken. Below, Chloe, who is my lovey...finds a basket to squeaze into. Isn't she something?
Our Bubby (baby/buddy)..aka Punkin...He fits in well with my Fall decor dontcha think? lol
The other day I was searching around in some old picture files and I found this tray that I had sold a few years back. I just loved these colors and how they represent fall/harvest time. So I thought I'd share this with you today.

Come to Jesus & Pray

Starting this week, Come to Jesus is changing and will be posted on Tuesdays. Please be sure to check out Jan of Jan and Tom's Place for others who participate in the this weekly time of reflection.


I have this wonderful little round of verses that I have kept from when I did Beth Moore's, BREAKING FREE many years ago. Many of these verses have been life sustaining for me. They were a part of the weekly time that we were to take and memorize them. Well, I am afraid that I didn't memorize all of them but I still keep this close, because they are so powerfer and healing.


From week Nine: Isaiah 26.3


You will keep in perfect peace

him whose mind is steadfast,

because he TRUSTs in you.

Powerful words, don't you think?


After the past couple of weeks, with banks failing and the stock market plumeting, its good to know in whom I trust. I admit that there have been many days I could have gotten very anxious about what is happening in the Global world as well. Especially when it affects many of us in our own savings and IRA's.


So when I read these words of how if my mind is steadfastly thinking of the LORD and his blessings in my life...rather than dwelling on world circumstance, a peace can be mine. You see, GOD ultimately is in control of all of this. He even says in his word he appointed leaders and allows them in place..good to know with the upcoming elections we face. He is orchestrating it all and our job is to really trust the final outcome to Him.


I am always reminded that he states he will take care of my NEEDs not my wants. A perfect peace is one... that when all that is going on around us seems out of control...our source of steadfast thinking is really from the LORD. He is our rock, our fortress, our help in trouble. He is GOD, he is the GREAT I AM. That brings me comfort and I hope it will you. Are you fully trusting him today?

PINK Saturday ~ October 11, 2008

Don't the weeks just fly by? Another PINK Saturday is upon us. Thanks to Beverly our host it is growing and growing each week. So don't rush, take a few days to sit and visit each of those wonderful participants in our weekly Pink tribute...you WON'T be disappointed!

I still cannot believe I have so much PINK. You know until you do something like this you don't realize it. This weeks tribute to PINK from me is going to be along the FALL/Autumn lines. Now I may throw in a few other PINK pictures...but PINK can go in your Fall home if you want it to...come see!

This is a larger almost 9 inches in height off white pumpkin with Large Pink Fluffy roses and embellished with my Handmade clay roses and lace...the one below is a tad smaller about 7 inches and is done up very similar to my larger one...they have loads of sparkle too!
In this sweet vinette, I have some treasured goodies too. The adorable gloves and scarf were given to my from a dear friend Katie..who is developing a line of adorable Tea treats. She also does some amazing hand work, booties sweeters and so much more..You must see her goodies!
THis is to DIE for!!!! Ele of A Bit of PINK Heaven made this for me last year in a small group Fall swap we did. It is a treasure to me!!! Isn't this one of the most creative ways anyone has come up with? and in PINK for fall no less..don't you agree?
Okay..these are NOT for fall..but I threw them in...This sweet little girl is in my master bath area watches over me. I wanted to show you Pink Washclothe roses...this sweet bouquet was so easy to do and I love the pop of color. Below is my stool that resides in our dressing area as well. It was given to me, but bought for .99c. Can you believe that? Of course, I couldn't resist painting it and putting roses on it. I know, I think I have an addiction or obession...HELP me...no I love them everywhere!

Stewardship versus Selfishness

Our womans bible study just started reading/studying the book BOUNDARIES written by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. I am sure many are wondering what a book on boundaries would even contain. This book explains how poor or healthy boundaries in our lives can affect us from our early growing up years to adulthood. If you have poor boundaries, many times you have to go back and work on healing hurts, letting go of pain and setting healthy productive boudaries.

Selfishness
Something that really stuck out to me, this week, was Chapter 6, Common Boundary Myths. A definition for a Myth..is a fiction that may look like the truth. I am going to key in on Myth #1. Going into Selfishness...it is a fixation on our own wishes and desires which may exclude our responsibility to LOVE others. God created us to Love and be loved..but we must set healthy boundaries in order to do this as he wishes. There is a difference. Having wishes and desires IS a God given trait..but they need to be kept in line with healthy goals and responsibilities. God is more interested in meeting our needs than fulfilling all of our wishes.

Paul In 2Cor 12:7-10 tells how God met his Needs, and he learned to be full and content in every situation that God put Him in...are you content and full right now?

Phil 4:12-13 go into this further:
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content to any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
If you are afraid to set healthy boundaries..its reassuring to rest in and KNOW that God will meet your needs. It is also critical to realized God may meet your needs, but ultimately it is our job to see that these needs are met. You may think thats not right, but the Bible makes it clear to us that Our lives, not that of others, is our responsibility. We alone someday will stand at the judgement seat of Christ and give an account to HIM, for all that we have done.

Stewardship
I LOVE how this book told me..setting limits is remembering that my LIFE is a Gift from God. I am a treasure to God, that treasure needs to be taken care of carefully and well. Suppose you are a shop manager in charge for your boss. Your job is to take good care of the shop, manage it well and see it succeed. You do this so that the owner will see you are doing well. If you do not set up good limits and boundaries it may cause you to mismanage things, and thence the store owner will be upset with you.

So in my own life then, it is my responsibility to develop, my abilities, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. To grow spiritually and emotionally is GOD's *interest* on His investment in us. When I begin to say NO to people and activities that may be hurtful to me in my life development, I then am protecting Gods investment in me.

I really came away with a much clearer understanding of how important setting Healthy boundaries for my own life is my responsibility. Like many, it feels good when others have things they want us to help in or be apart of. If we are developing spiritually, know our own limits and strengths, we will be better equipped when asked, to decipher if this is a good thing for me to be involved in or not. No, sometimes is hard to say to others, but I have learned that my No may put someone else that is ready or it is there spiritual calling in my place. Don't get caught up in thinking that they NEED me..cause God may need you somewhere else and has someone other than you ready.

Well...my week started out slow with a nasty cold..but it made me just sit and relax and that ended up being a GOOD thing! While I was just sitting, I worked on some new designs and goodies for the Holidays. I sell lots of my Christmas ornaments in a cute shop nearby as well as on etsy, ebay and now my new selling blog. COME TO JESUS ~ Wednesday


Good Morning!

Well..I have been away for a few weeks. I had a quick decision to make 3 weeks ago to come visit my folks in the Seattle area and ended up missing 2 Wednesdays...then I don't do the adjustments coming home well and have come down with the flue or cold. But today, even tho I am late getting this in I wanted to contribute.

With the recent Gloom and Doom of our economy and Wall Street and in my own life the loss of a job for my hubby I draw comfort daily from my Lord. I know that these are just storms in life that we go through. And I also know who is holds my hand all the way. So I found this verse today about God's unfailing love that is all around me and you and wanted to share it with you.

Isaiah 54:10
"Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed."
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

WOW, those words really hit home for me. Our world is being shaken up right now..but GOD has an unfailing love for you and me. I love that through all of this he promises a covenant PEACE. A peace that can pass any of our own understanding. And to know that GOD has compassion for us is just priceless.
