I'm Making Progress!

So..the last few days I have still been a putterin'. This SPRING CLEANING sure takes up a long time!!!! Please don get worried tho, I am not running myself ragged. I work at my own pace, taking a break, fixing something..and most importantly, I keep my glue on, ready for a work out! The floors and windows in certain areas were neglected so they got scrubbed! Does my heart good to finally get that done.

You see, for the past few years I have not felt like myself. When you don't feel well, many things go by the wayside. One of them for me was deep cleaning and seasonal decorating. I found out 2 years ago I have HYPERGYCEMIA (High Blood Sugar) or early stages of Type 2 Diabeties and I am only turning 50 this year! I am NOT over weight but am one of the lucky ones who inherited the predisposition to this disease. I didn't realize that my lack of energy, fatigue, peeing/drinking water all the time and ability to keep going were so keyed into this. After 2 years of taking medication that is working, I am now beginning to see wonderful results. As a matter of fact, my Endocronogist was so happy with my progress in February he no longer needs to see me every 6 months! YEAH...he said everything has been kept pretty even, weight (yep), A1C tests and my overall health.

So now you know why I am making such a BIG deal about all of this. That makes all that I am able to do that much sweeter!

I decided that my entrance into our home needed a little sprucing up and changed! I am so happy with how this all turned out. I LOVE the picture of entering a beautiful garden by Thomas Kinkade!
This darling set of bunnies was painted by me 17 years ago. They have such sweet memories too...I was pregnant with my daughter and got to go on a rare visit to see my dear childhood friend Cynthia who lives in Redding, CA. She was taking tole painting then...and I tagged along to one of her classes...this was before I actually began painting myself...neat huh?

I did some cleaning/dusting and rearranging of my hutch! I had to show off my beloved Rose Chintz China my mom started me on! This is just a teeny portion of what I have..I am still trying to finish up a place setting of 8. Almost there!
I brought out a round table so that I could create this darling vinette in one of the corners of my Dining Room...which still is a working in progress!
Lastly...here's a peek of the pass through (butlers pantry)...all done up for spring!
So...if you are in the midst of, or have already completed your Seasonal Decorating I'd LOVE to hear from you so I can take a peek. Leave me a comment so I can come on by and visit!
HAPPY SPRING CLEANING!

Hippity Hoppity ~ Easters on its way?

I have just gotten myself in the middle of early Spring Cleaning. And when I say that I mean..every room in my house is starting to look like a junk store. I have been pulling things out...dusting, (UGH) and starting to mentally rearrange, set up vinettes and create goodies for SPRING! Does anybody else do this? I get so mentally exhausted with all the *TO DO's* I start seeing in my mind that before I know it I've got 50 projects going all at once...well maybe 10. Temporary insanity...thank goodness its March maddness and my sweet hubby is glued to the tube! lol

See...I told ya it was a mess! These are just a few rooms to show you what I was talking about!

Stay tuneds..cause this is a BEFORE and AFTER waiting to happen..just need to do it! lol
Spring is my favorite time of year..and then summers warmth! I was going through my *stuff* and realized that I let go of loads last year and needed to Kick It Up a notch..so to speak....so here's a few teasers of some cute goodies I've been making myself. So..what do ya think?

So...here's a teaser! I have a few vinettes done in my kitchen area. Of course I am never done tweaking until the entire home is finished...so this may change a little..but you can see I am at work! Sorry about how dark this first one is..It would not put the flash on..don't know why! CAMERAS!!! lol

Come back again..for more pix..hopefully I'll have my spring cleaning done and my fresh decor up in a week!
Spring Blessings and Happy Easter Everyone!

BLUE Mondays

One of my MOST favorite of all colors is BLUE so I decided that I would like to give BLUE Monday a try. This will be my first post of many, I hope. I do have LOADs of blue in my home and I will enjoy sharing it with you!

A Great BIG Thanks to Smiling Sally who is our wonderful hostess for this Monday post! As you can see, I was not merely just saying I LOVE blue. I have painted our Formal Dining room and deep Royal blue. I love it as a backdrop for my many teacup and tea pots I collect.

These 2 are items I have painted and sold in softs blue shades.
I just love this piece of pottery. Mainly because my daughter made it as a sophomore in her art class and then gave it to me. I am using it to show off some pretty bling I have!

Thanks for letting me share! I DO love to recieve comments and hope to stop by and visit all the other BLUE posts.
Have a blessed day!

PINK Saturday ~FEBRUARY 28th

WELCOME TO..Part 2 of my Master Bedroom PINK post!

Please come on in and browse through more of my vinettes that I have created in my master suite. I don't think one realizes until you do something like PINK Saturday that you have so much pink...I didn't even think it was a favorite color..until now..lol. I hope you enjoy it!

This is a collection of chenille bedspreads...do you see the PINK one?
This is a Gorgeous sachet hanging over a door in my dresser was made by BERTIE of Aunt Mays Cottage, a sweet friend from my PRH ebay group! Be sure to check out her web sight she does amazing Victorian goodies. In the picture below, this adorable hanging sachet was made from another dear friend of mine RHEA who many know is such an amazing creative artist as well! I just love this groups of plates and a plaque I painted. These reside beside my side of the bed.
A vase that I have painted my roses on and then put PINK roses in.
Theses darling shoes I painted at a place where my daughter used to love to go and paint plaster pieces. Aren't they cute? So many wonderful memories of doing this with her.

I had to put this picture of my craft room in...just to show you that my rooms are not always neat..this is showing many works in progress! That's how the creative mind works..lol

HELP! I am hoping that someone who visits me, might know if this is vintage or not. Its just darling..with no markings underneath. I found this yesterday while out thrifting. Its a keeper in my book!

THANKs again, this week to BEVERLY our amazing PINK Saturday organizer!!!

Have a blessed weekend...Lorena

PINK Saturday ~ FEBRUARY 21st

WELCOME!!
I took my pictures yesterday so that I could continue on with my PINK Master Suite pictures I had been showing you. I have many pictures and I will do this up in 2 sessions! If you LOVE what you see this week...be sure to come back next week to view more PINK goodiness in my Master Suite!

A few months back I was cleaning in my bedroom..and well that's usually how it all starts for me. I see something I want to tweak here, fix this there..and before I knew it I was rearranging furniture, redoing my bed and ligthening up my window treatments. We are blessed to have a giagantic bedroom with a Peaked catheral like ceiling. With a king sized bed you think this room would feel cozy....but you know I like eye candy and it has taken me many tries to get a cozy feeling in this room. I am showing you many vinettes with pinks...but our bedroom walls are a very soft blue that I just love. Next week I will try and show more of the entire room. Today its just mainly vinettes.
These are pictures of MY vanity area!

A sweet vinette I have created using my Wedding dress and hat that I wore 23 years ago! Then I have put all things sweet and pink around them.

I just LOVE this card that I matted and framed.

No place in our room is free from little vinettes...this one is atop of our TV..it needs to be pretty abd pink too!
This is a seat that I have covered to create a chaise lounge!
And this last set of pictures is the area that I will take pictures of my goodies I sell. You see, living in Michigan doesn't always allow you to have good outside light...so you have to create spaces to do that.

Oh I have so many more pictures to show you, but I will stop for now! Next week I will continue on and have more picture of my overall room!
Be sure to stop by BEVERLY's who has the large list of other PINK Saturday participants! Many thanks to her for her continued organizing of this fun PINK event!
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY! I'd LOVE your comments and will try hard to chat back with you!
Blessings...Lorena
