Pink Saturday ~ 9/11 Remembered~

For today's Pink Saturday I have
decided to do a post on rememberance.

Tuesday, September 11th, 2001.
A day I will NOT forget as long as I live.
Do you remember where you were that day?

I will always remember where I was when I
heard the terrible news of a plane
going into the 1st trade center building.
And the news did not get any better.

I was at my church, beginning our
new Bible Study that always starts in the fall.  When we
finally got more news of what
was going on we stopped and PRAYED.
I could not have been in a better place that day.
Not far from me was my daughters school.
She attended the Christain school our church
had on their property.  Do you remember
that feeling of where are my loved ones?
I do.  I was so thankful that she was a
stones throw away. And if I needed to,
I could check on her safetly.

The days that followed were very eerie to me.
I remmeber hearing planes, but not
jet planes, fighter planes doing their rounds.
Living in the Greater Detroit area we are
near the Canadain border so our area
was heavily guarded this way.
I felt the heartache as I saw those 2 building crumble,
heard of what happened at the pentagon, and
also saw the remains of a plane that was meant
to kill more people.
We
heard stories of those whose bravery was instrumental
in saving lives.  Many who went to help, lost
their lives. And so much more that our
minds could not concieve the evil that has
caused this gapping hurt in our beloved
country.

BUT,
American's rallied!
American's LOVE their country.
American's were NOT going to let evil win!

I am so proud to be an American!
GOD Bless the U.S.A!

Wonderful post, Lorena! I remember well turning on the TV and sitting down to have a cup of coffee. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I cried all that day and gave thanks to God for the safety of my loved ones here in Canada. Two of my boys were on the other side of the country going to school and they both called me because they just wanted to hear the sound of my voice.
My little grandson was only three months old that day and I wondered how safe our world was going to be for him. No, I won't ever forget!
Thanks for sharing.

Blessings & hugs,
Sandi

Beautiful tribute. What was really eerie too was NOT hearing ANYTHING in the skies for days as all the planes were grounded. My family has had six firefighters and paramedics so this touches us very deeply.
