Happy Spring Everyone ~ Update

Hey Friends!

Gonna stop in real quick today and say HI and wish everyone a Happy Spring and Easter time!  I just LOVE it when GOD's timing of spring brings renewed greens and color back to life here in Michigan.  It can be quite drab with out snow, seeing the barren trees and brown grass.

ALSO...Thanks so much for those of you who stopped and left me messages.  Bloggers are such dear wonderful peep! I love you all and thank you for your words of encouragement.

I really feel led to share a number of things with you.
So if you are reading these again just ingore this.
But if you haven't well then you can learn more about me.

About 4 years ago in January of 2007 I finally was diagnosed with *hyperglycemia* or early stages of Type 2 Diabeties.  To say I was stunned and in disbelief was an understatement.  I was only 47, maybe 5-10lbs over what I wanted my weight to be and in fairly good health. Okay...I'd been dragging for a couple of years and dealing with one infection after the other...and knew where every restroom was at any given place I'd go to.  To put a name to what was going on  though, was a relief because I KNEW something was wrong, it just didn't have a name.  My father bless his heart...is also a type 2 diabetic...so its in the gene pool!

Hyperglycemia for those who are unaware is *High Glucose* in your blood.  Or your body overproduces to make up for what it thinks you need.  Your sugars peak high and then drop suddenly...thus leaving you with no consistant energy and fatigue that can be debilitating.  I probably was living like this for many years and always wondered why I never woke up with energy and very prone to infections.  I'd have good days and bad days...and be very frustrated cause I take loads of vitamins and nutrients and really do try and walk and take care of myself.   I have been seeing an Endochronolgist who is working with me on differing meds.  Of course, I could not take the most commonly known med...Metformin due to a horrid reaction.  Last year I started taking a newer med that seems to be working very well and with little side affects.  PTL!

Now, I am still prone to infections.  This past winter I have had 2 sinus infections and a kidney infections that has just taken it all out of me.  I know I am not well when I have no desire to create.  That's a ringer for me that something is not right.  I am also learning that I don't heal and quick as I'd like and usually need a couple rounds of meds to comepletely get the infection out of my system...again this can be very frustrating....but I do keep plugging along.  Rest and not stressing are huge for me now.  I am not 30 anymore and must remember this, lol.

Also, my hubs, daughter and I have come out of a very difficult period in our lives.  After 2 years of not working my hubby started a new job and has now been working for 8 month..can I say *Thank You Lord*!!!.  We are praising God that he finally found work...only he now works out of state about 2.5 hours from our home.  Meaning he commutes home on weekends and lives there during the week.  The first 6 months were do-able, since 2 years of constant with the one you love can be hard.  But that has all worn off and now I am really missing him.  Each weekend he leaves to go work gets harder for him and me.  But I will say God has used this in a wonderful reconnecting way for us.
I am now praying for work closer to home to open up.

Thankfully, my sweet 19 year old daughter is finishing up her first year at College with honors and making us so proud of her accomplishments.  She loves kids and is working on a degree in Teaching lower elementary, with her heart wanting to teach 2nd or 3rd graders. We had a few very rough years and now can see how GOD has grown her and is continuing to do HIS good works in her.  She is living at home...but I am seeing less and less of her...Okay can I say *Empty Nest* is starting to set in? Yep...Mom is struggling, but loving what I see as I know this is part of the Plan and that I am seeing the completion of how we raised her.

So...
that's really whats going on in my...LIFE.

I know we all have struggles.  I know we all have heartaches and prayers that need answered.  I also know that sometimes life hands you things you really don't want but you must face them, live with them and then TRUST that GOD knows what he is doing.

I have HOPE through all that I am going through and I want you to see this first and foremost.
I may get discouraged and down, but I have believed in a GOD that is ABLE to get me through the past few years and HE has.  I also love it when we can look back and see HIS footprints upon the sands of
our lives and how he has been beside me through it all.

Thanks so much for being there and giving me time and space.
If you are not feeling well...go to your Doctor...find out whats wrong.
Much Love goes out to all of you!

Thanks for letting me share!

Just so you know...I'm taking a blogging break.

Happy St. Patty's Day to you!

Hey sweet blogging friends!
Just a quick stopping in to let you know I am still here.
Been a bit sick these past few weeks and just plain
down in the dumps. I have decided to take a little
break from blogging for now.
I think we all at some time or the other just
realize that keeping up with all we do in life can
overwhelm.  I just need to take a step back for
a while and veg and recoup!

Love and Hugs to All!

Hi Friends!

Hi Sweet Friends!

Well, I guess I have put blogging on the back burner for a while.  I
hope you all are not feeling ignored.  But...this is my hardest time of year
and I just didn't feel I have had much to say.

But...last week the painting bug hit and I got 3 items I have wanted painted
for a few year done! YEP, I said done.  Would you like to see what I did.
I do admit I forgot before pix but I hope you will enjoy my after.  Of course
I was cleaning in my Living Room and the rest, well that's what got me started!

Here's a darling lil side table that I painted up using my
favorite Heirloom White From Accent.
Okay, now here's the neatest table, a two
tiered side table all done up in heirloom white as well.
I needed to *fill* my corner and I knew this
piece would be a nice way to display my beloved
pottery pieces I have been collecting.

Isn't this just the Coolest table?

Would you like to see a few of the vingettes that I move around
and created in my Living Room Parlour? Okay... here goes.

This is a side table I bought probably 10 years ago for $3 at
a garage sale...I put my touch on it and added a few roses and
have also been using it, but it was covered up.  Now I decided
to showcase it cause I love this table too.

So...last but not least, I painted an old ugly
turqoise chair that was given to me black.  I
have this in my desk area located in my kitchen.
I am loving how well it goes with my reds, gold and
black English Cottage themed kitchen!

I so HAPPY to finally have these projects taken off
my mental list of things I wanted to do.  Such a wonderful
feeling it gives.  Do you have any of those mental
tasks weighing you down...well be inspired
and get them done!

I do apologize dear friends for not getting back with you...
I will work at it better these next few weeks.  I so
appreciate your sweet comments and words of
encouragement and am sorry I just have not gotten
around to doing much in my blogging friends world!!

Hugs and Love
Lorena

Etsy Cottage Style Market Monday ~ Statement Bib Necklaces!

Hey Sweet Friends!

I am joining a great group of creative peeps over
at Etsy Cottage Style.  They
put on a fabulouse 1st of the month
Monday link up of those who
have many great things to sell.
Be sure to CLICK HERE and stop by those
who are listed today.
Also check my left sidebar for the link as well.

I'd like to share with you all what I just finished up this
past week.  I shared with you a Bib necklace I made up
using vintage goodies along with my own handmade clay roses
a few post ago.
Well...the juices just gotta flowing and I made two other
necklaces up that I just wanted to share with you.

These pieces, I guess are considered
*Statement Necklaces or Bib Necklaces*
because of how they are shaped.

Keeping in my shabby PINK Rose themed
fashion these two lovelies are loaded
with elegance and charm.  I have used many
vintage items, earrings, buttons, rhinestones and
even thrown in a couple of fabric roses too.

This one below is in softer pinks and is a little more
delicate in shape.  It ties with a pretty pink gauzy ribbon.
Wouldn't this dress up a plain T well?

This piece below is a tad bigger but has just as much charm!

I made sure they both had lotsa bling, cause I am a blingy
kinda girl!

Be sure to check these out in my etsy store today!

Thanks for stopping by today!

SNOW in SE Michigan

Hey Friends!
Well, look what has happenedd to us in less than a week.
We probably had 8-10 inches in the BIG storm that
hit us last Tuesday/Wednesday...but then
Saturday we got a SURPRISE...
another 5-6 inches more.
Now that is ontop of the 4-5 inches we had
gathered slowly since the 1st of January.

I'm thinking its the MOST snow we have had in
recent years...and guess what? we are still get
snowflakes...I don't think they are accumulating
like what we had on Wednesday tho. Just
flurries...Oh where art thou Oh SPRING?

Do ya see the mailboxes?...that's where all the
road snow gets moved too...

I can't get over how covered our plants are in snow...
can barely see them.

So...I guess PURE White snow
is better to look at than the dry, brown
dormant grass, huh? lol

REMEMBER. I live in Michigan and they do know
how to drive and deal with snow removal.  Usually
within 24 hours we are good to go! I AM
thanksful for that.

So I am off to run a few errands!
Enjoy the Snowy Pixs!!!

Where have I been? What have I been doing?

He Sweet Friends...

If I am reeeeeally honest with you all...well I have
been struggling.  This time of year is the hardest for me.
I AM a warm weather girl and I am sticking to it!!!
These cold, gray days just get me down.  In the
17 years I have lived in Michigan, Winter season is
one I Dread!!!  Now I really do try and make
the best of it...but on the hardest of hard days,
I am dreaming of Florida warmth...someday...

I have
slooooowly been getting my Christmas stuff put away. Yes
I did say that...I wait til the end of January cause I like
to enjoy my decor, as it takes me so long to get it all out.
Then, I pour over magazines for FRESH new ideas
and inspiration and get myself in a decorating tizzy!
Being creative can be both a blessing and a curse!
But when those creative juices flow...you'd better watch out!

So today I got a FRESH creative spurt and had to come
share it all with you.
Have ya'll seen those *Bib Necklaces* that are the rage
right now?  Well I have, and I have had this swirling
in my brain for days and I finally got one done
just for Moi!

Now I am keeping this one as it has some pretty
pieces of jewelry that were my grammy's.  One of the
sweet thangs my aunt and momma did when I got
the privaledge of going to her funeral over the
Christmas holidays, was to sit with my
sisters and all the girls and see what she had collected
in her 96 years of living.
Mom and my aunt picked out what was most special to
them and when the rest was gone over
lucky me, I got to bring all the other
pieces home.

 I have plans to decorate
a couple of frames up for my mom and aunt so they
will have sweet memories of her.
The rest...well I get to play with! yay me!

These really are easy to do.  Now on this one I used some of my
own clay roses, vintage buttons, grammy's pices.
I even took an old chain of hers, cut it in half and used it as well.
The base back is felt and then I used a piece of
stiff interface that was glue to the felt.

Do you have left over jewelry that you don't
know what to do with...here's a great idea.
or
I'd love to create one just for you...
I may do a few more up to see if they will sell...
will see.

Thanks so much for letting me share this with you!
Hope you are all out there being inspired and
blessed!
