A HEART THAT IS HEAVY

Dear friends,
I hope you and your family had a blessed Christmas day with your family.

Sadly, for my family I learned of the passing of my 96 year old maternal grandma about 1:00est on Christmas day. She went to be with her Lord and is now in complete rest.
We rejoice In the full long life she lived. She always told me she wanted to live to be 100 years...she gave it a valiant try. I would so covet your prayers for my mom, her sister and our entire family during this next week.

Grace Estelle Marie Stites Lane, you will be missed!

I do plan to travel to Boise where we will be honoring her life.

Thank you in advance.

THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS ~ The Story Behind

Hi Bloggy Friends!

This was sent to me recently by my mom.  It was so interesting
I thought I would like to pass this on to others.  It is the history
about the origin of the 12 Days of Christmas.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted
to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era
wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.
It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden
meaning known only to members of their church.
Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious
reality which the children could remember.

-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law,
the first five books of the Old Testament.

-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--
Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation,
Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit
--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,
Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.

-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the
twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

So there is your history of  the 12 Day's Of Christmas Christmas song.
 I found it interesting
and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a
Christmas Carol...so pass it on if you wish.

Merry Christmas
Lorena

PRETTY IN PINK PARLOR ~ PART 3

Hi My Sweet Friends!

I have been so busy finishing up shopping and my home that I haven't had much time to blog.  But, I have been visiting many of the gorgeous homes you have.  I am a decorater at heart, not by training and NEVER tire of the lovely ways ya'll decorate.  Truley blogland has some very talented and amazing artistic peeps!

My last room that I'd LOVE to share with you is my room! My *Parlor* as I like to call it.  It is my girly girl room...and I keep my 4ft white tree up ALL year long in here.  I love bling and last year I even decided to keep out my growing collection of vintage pink ornies.  I have hit the jackpot these past couple of years and found so many amazing vintage pinks and wonderfully shape ornies, of which, most reside in this room.
If you follow me and have seen my past pictures of my home, you will see that this room is totally different from them.  It is covered in things that make ME happy! I love to sit in the room with a couple of magazines and tea and allow myself to drink in the warmth of this room.

So without further ado...here are my PINK PARLOR pix! Enjoy!

To start our tour, I decided to share different wider views so you can
get the feel for this room.  It has to entries into it, one off to the left
of our front entry and another that leads into the family room.

My sweet gurly kitty Chloe LOVEs to curl up on my Rosy Chintz
sofa.  When I come in here she is usually my companion.

Now for some fun vingnettes..that are my specialty! lol

THANKS so much for stopping by today!
I love sharing my home and decorating ideas with you my
sweet friends!

I may be off of my puter for a while so I want to make sure I wish
everyone a
MERRY CHRISTMAS
and
Happy New Year!

Blessings to you and your home!

CHRISTMAS DECOR AT MY HOME ~ I'M SO BLUE ~ PART 2 (Tea Time Tuesday)

~Hi Blogging Friends~

Today is Tuesday, and I am sharing more of my
Christmas Decor with you.  The room(s) I am sharing today all have to do
with my Love of Anything TEA, as you will see in my pictures.
Yet again, you will also see that I LOVE blue
and always incorporate it in a couple of
my rooms.

I will be starting in my entry and then moving over into my Royal Blue Dining Room!
So...be prepared for loads of pictures in this post!

My entry way is never overlooked. On the middle landing of our
stairs I have created a corner shelf which usually displays my
collection of Milk Glass which I have filled with PINK vintage
ornies.  But this year I pulled out my Feather tree to place on the top.
This is a very special
New Feather tree, special to me because
ALL of the ornies and tags are from very dear ladies in my life.
A group of ladies that we call ourselves the
PRH Sisters
(Pretty Romantic Homes, group on ebay)

Okay...I still have more from my entry...

Then, I am just showing you a few of my Hall Tree that
I also have in my entry...touches of blue here too!

Still with me?
Here's my Dining Room...

It is NO secret that one of my favorite colors is blue.  I have
been collecting blue ornies for several years now and this year
I decided I wanted to showcase them ALL (or almost all) in
various large containers.  I had so much fun with these and LOVE
how the sparkle and add so much bling to this room.
For my tea friends, this room houses many of my tea things
and I tried to take many pictures for you to see how
I have them displayed all over this room.

Even my china hutch got touches of blues.

There you have it!  I hope you enjoyed your tour
of these 2 rooms all decorated up in BLUES
for Christmas!

Please join my dear friend Sandi over at
to visit the many
Tea Tuesday Participants we have!

Thanks again for stopping by!
I DO love reading your comments!
